Ministry says 21 regions to join digital passes platform

MOSCOW, Apr 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s federal digital passes platform will be introduced in 21 out of 85 regions of the country, the Digital Development Ministry said late on Wednesday in a statement.

“After a meeting held on April 21, 2020 at the Digital Development Ministry of Russia with the heads of regional authorities in charge of digital transformation, the ministry received applications from 21 regions of the Russian Federation to implement the federal decision to issue digital passes,” the statement read.

The platform allows firms to order digital passes for their employees via a corporate account on a single portal of state services. After the information is verified, passes are issued as QR codes.

Russians can order passes via their accounts on the single portal of state services or a special mobile application.

The initiative aims at curbing the coronavirus spread.
